MIAMI ROADSTER
Luxury, Elegance, and Performance. Inspired by Hot Rod
Thoughts...
wonderrful, the only problem i see is visibility. I doubt the driver could adaquatley and accuratly drive with the field of view provided by the windshield: it is toolow lying in the car
Am I the only one that fails to see the Roadster part of this car? It has an obvious fixed roof which would make it a coupe. Cool design, wrong name.
Congratulations with your well deserved 1e place !! It was one of the best projects and a 100 % Miami Road racer ! Hope to see much more for you in the future !
Congratulations from me, too. Nice surfaces and an overall dynamic car...all the best for you future projects!!!
This competition entry is both American and Original. There's enough "elbow room" in the sketches for feasibility and packaging work. The artwork is beaultiful and the car is gorgeous. Good job.
nice car, and renders, but i want to see this car in a 3d model. I'm not sure if some surfaces will work on real, as the rocker or the front fender. And the view angle and front air intake seems to small for me.
Much has been said about what you can do, I agree with a few of these to be finicky (front graphic and belly line... a littleeee more tension please!). I want to jump to how attractive of a presentation this is. You were clear from the beginning boards what your intentions were, and it's just as clear that you succeeded. You've already done, in my opinion, what hasn't been done well in too many cases of breeding old and new form languages. And with finesse! There is a lot of character and tons of potential, you've got the community waiting to see some development! I'd like to see a few more of the sketches it probably took to get you this far... all in all gorgeous presentation, very professional. Good luck!
Sangho, you still have 2 terms left at ACCD? You're going to be a monster when you graduate.. Good thing I'm not competing with you for jobs! haha. I have to admit that this project has grown on me in the past couple weeks. I agree with Aurel's previous comment regarding influences in your design, whether they be conscious or not. I think this car has potential- though some elements such as the rear wing (as previously mentioned by others) don't quite work with the overall theme. I am anxious to see you take this design further than sketch renderings- fitting this design on a reasonable package would be a very interesting proposal- though keeping the themes and character intact will be difficult, I am extremely anxious to see how you translate these themes into 3d.. Congratulations, man. Nice stuff.
Even if I share some comments about some details such as the rear spoiler, the grille or the rectangular vent, there is a great presence in your car. A sort of a mix between the race spirit of a Gillet Vertigo, the complex surfaces of a Z4 BMW and the sex appeal of the Chrysler Atlantic (... front angle). Also congratulations for your artistic renderings ! ■ Aurel.
@Kotlyarevsky: gotta agree with you on the "tiny cabin" part - would be interesting to see the changes necessary to package the car for real occupants, even with a porsche-style back seat! @deuxfov: Would love to see some front end variations if you have time! Still wonder about the spoiler... :)
I really can't stop staring at this design. It has some terrific design elements! Only thing that I would change is the "belly" line. It looks like it may need a little more tension in it. It's sagging just a tad bit too much. Great job overall, and great sketches.
This is cerntainly a gorgeous work. full of such fervidness!! I can just feel the passion and zeal you put into!! Well done.. You should be proud of yourself
There is something good about it that I like. The bonnet surface, which flows into side mirrow - great idea, and all details around front open wheels - very strong elements of the design. The front grill and design of the back are weak points and blurry proposals looks good because of tiny cabin for two it has and huge wheels, in real life it will be completely different story... But hey, it is just a sketches and idea i clear, so you should be happy with your work, an impressive proposal!
One of my favorite entries. Love the renderings especially the neony ones! I think the car looks better without that little rectangular vent in the front fender (like in the 2nd to last page). Also the wing doesn't flow with the body imo. Very distinctive design with strong execution, just those few details stand out to me.
Now that is a fabulous entry. I love the sketch work and flawless presentation from the hot rod theme. VERY AMERICAN IN DESIGN. It does have some chrysler blood in it but you made a statement. Great work
Very nice project, and very good sketches and renderings !!! Your project is very creative but I think the front is too Chrysler with the grid and headlights and the back misses originality compared to the front.... I wonder if seeing the vehicle in the street, I will answer me to know if it is a new Chrysler or a new vehicle with a new identity. "It's very important for Local Motors to have its own identity ^^
At some point in time you come to a situation where you look at someone's work and it causes you to change your perspective and entire evaluation process. Unfortunately, it even causes you to change one's votes. That time is now. It is not just that the design is good, it's emotional...and to another level. The emotion is only intensified by the passion of your fine art panel. An excellent compliment to your work. This car just gets you excited. Excited about pushing the boundaries and breaking down the doors and barriers to the conventional. Clear cut presentation that is easy to understand and follow. The only minor element that may have disturbed me a little bit was the rear spoiler. The body surfaces of the car flowed so well that I expected a more integrated choice. The next level would be to get some packaging information into this concept. If this were my concept, I'd be so proud of myself!! Well done.
Very nice work indeed, it has that "feeling"... I would love to see it in a 3D form. :)
american hot rod meets modern surfacing treatment. excellent work! very nice sketches and paintings!! you might want to try to make it apparent directional triangle from plan view. Excellent idea with excellent execution! great work
looking at this design after going through the rest, including my own, i say this is the winner :) BEAUTIFUL
i also thought way better than Prowler...the questions was put to the general automotive ignoramus
thanks wikid jackieki and mpisani.. thanks for all the complements...I definately work on grill...thanks againl..!!!!
i agree with wikid. this is what the prowler should have looked like! the last image looks like you could print it out poster size, put in in a really nice frame and hang it as an expensive work of art! love it with or without the rear spoiler. grille opening needs a redesign though.
Filski, I say something better. *way better*. This leaves Prowler way behind. Love the presentation too - descriptions were simple, but as they say a picture is worth a thousand words. Glorious.
Great work on your vehicle concept. Exceptional paintings to "set the tone". Would love to see some front view variations for grilles & headlight placement. Check nikos m's competition entry for really cool lights and Crisp Angles for great grille opening work. Cheers!
sensetional!! (i m not sure the word exists or spelled like this... but u get the point!!!) really nice!! were u inspired from morgan and a little rx8 for the front?? if so, u managed to make it ur own!!
this one oozes character eh?! well done for the unique form. will it be seen as a chrysler retro or something better??
ooooo!! this is really really REALLLY HOT! i think i am changing my favourite design so far to void.... cos the designs i am seeing keep getting better n better!
WOW - Thanks!! - this sketch work is something to aspire towards - passionate and full of emotion! . . now to work on that front grille design . . .
This vehicle is exciting and unique! Absolutely stunning work on your final two renderings - they set the perfect tone for your vehicle and raise the standard of the entire competition. I'm not 100% on the spoiler or the hood-to-rear view mirror feature, or grill, but the overall "feel" of the design is exceptional. This is special.
Wow. Way to take the checkup sketch to the next 10 levels. I need some time to soak this all in. The rear 3/4 is my fav view. Rod meets aerospace. An American classic in the making. The grill is not quite right, but the low curved sweep is exceptional. Great painting.
