Rib Venter
DESIGNOVA Proposal A: Vision:The vent design is inspired by the wing ribs and other frame structure of the P-51, as well as other skeletal structure. The portal's shape is inspired by the cross-section of an airfoil. Function:This vent design is a flexible one, and can be scaled up or down to best fit the design's needs. Its simple construction would mean simplicity of sourcing and production. Also, if scaled up, this design could be used to enhance or disguise a panel parting line, as shown in the top image. Thank you in advance for your reactions, and may this be the first of many parts bin competitions to come!
Thoughts...
hi David ,it"s me again ,i just wanted to say persoanlly thank you for your thoughts, by the way Local Motors is the greatest car design place which i have recently found on the internet , so get ready Nascar is next ,plenty of dinos to get inspired from B-) ,take care !!!
Hello again Dan- the picture included in my last post was just for fun. I am already aware of all the implications you have listed above, but I like the feel of the long vent, despite it not qualifying for this design. Thank you for your thoughts though.
well this long side vent across the front fender is a little problematic than you think visually i mean because as you can see the surface of the fender is not straight and your vent's contour will change its shape in 3D , and as also Engineering Requirements are strict " Must be inside the Red box " , my advice ,next time try differnt shapes no matter if they are crazy but keep the shapes in the same family shape with the rest of the design , to be in harmony ,nice talking to you ,have a nice day ,bye
Thank you! Please take a look at my other design, "BLADE venter" As for the dinos, T-Rex has influence more of my designs than I probably even realize. :) Nothing like a gigantic carnivore to spice things up!
i have to admit i love the dino in your layout , and regarding the side fent , it looks quite elegant ,good luck !!!!
